Lighting and assembly

Let's see a possible way to assemble this thing.
You need something to make the panel frame. I used a white PVC stick 4 by 10 mm found in a brico shop.
Keep in mind that more depth means more light needed, but also more evenness in the enlightened areas.
Frame parts
Cut pieces to obtain a rectangle of the right size.Frame making

It's glue time. Glue the 4 pieces between each other, and then to the slide frame. Frame making

Now find a little bit of metallic net (this is picture is from a broken mosquito net). Size and shape should be equal to the area that you want to be touch sensitive. Mosquito net
Place the net on the back of the white panel, and glue the borders of the net to the panel. Net glued
Now, it's time to glue the white panel to the inside of the frame, as you see here
PAY ATTEMPTION TO ALIGNMENT BETWEEN SLIDES.
The hot glue gun is perfect for this task.

Find out how much light is needed to enlighten the panel. You must go by trying, at least for the very first time.
In the picture, I used a single white ultrabright LED (20000mcd) at 30mA.
Light test
We need a back panel. White, because it must reflect light, but you can choose shape and size. I used a plate for electric box. You must made holes to place LEDs and wires. You can glue LEDs with hot glue.Back panel

You must solder a small wire (like a single wire of a flat cable) to one of the net border. Unfortunately there is no picture, I forgot to make one :-( )
Make the solder in a point THAT'S COVERED BY A BLACK AREA ON THE SLIDE, or else the shadow will be visible (like mine :-( )
Assembled
Attach the circuit to the back panel, remember to connect wire from the net to the pin 7 of QT110. Keep wire as short as possible. Connect also LEDs to the power supply (to have 30mA in a white led, you need a 68ohm resistor) Assembled
Here we are: Turn off the room lights, power on the panel, put the finger on the glass, and if all works as needed, make a toast to celebrate the result of your hard work, while looking in the dark how nice is the effect :-) YO!
